HD workflow...any tips?

June 20th I'm editing a HD 24fps feature and want to get my Editing Studio prepared. I've only edited DV so what should I do to upgrade and prepare my system. I have a dual 1.25 Powermac g4 with 2gigs ram and 500g hard drive internal right now.

Any steps for capture or editing I should be aware of beyond the basics? Any feedback from someone editing HD footage would be greatly appreciated!

Well I would first off look at a new dual g5. They are not priced two high and worth every penny. I have a dual 2.0 and I haved edited HDCAM unconpressed fottage on it and it worked like a champ. Buy some ram from curical it will save you some money 3 gigs is a nice number thta is what I have now. Hard drive space is key. it takes alot of room to edit real hd so look into external salutions. apple is offering to put 2 400gig hard drives in for not two much money that might be something to look into. and my final tip is to rent or buy an NTSC HD monitor. It dose look different on computer screen then it will on a monitor so if you are color correcting you need one. other then that just edit like you would any other footage. Just think of it as video with more information to it. that is all it is.
