OK, something tells me that I'm searching by the wrong terms, because I can't find ANYTHING on the web regarding my situation. So, even though it has little relevance in this world, I'm turning to my fellow trusty DVXUsers for help.
Here it is:
W
hen I play a DVD on my DVD player it upconverts the signal to HD and looks pretty damned good on my 720p LCD by my estimation.
Now, when I rip a DVD (legally, of course) to my hard drive, it rips it at the native 720x480. When I hook up my PC to that same LCD, the movie looks like it would if I had a regular non-upconverting DVD player.
So, how do I get the best of both worlds? I want the HD upconversion from ripped DVD.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Eric
