HD stills

hey gang,

trying to export some still images out of FCP 6. it's HD footage shot on the HVX (720, 24PN). both jpeg and png exports out of Quicktime Conversion come out with really bad pixelization. the images are not not clean, certainly nowhere near native resolution quality.
any idea why this is? best way to get full-res images out of FCP?

Which version of FCP are you on?
There have been some posts about issues with 6.02 and still exports:

Not sure if that's the same issue you are seeing.

I usually just set the video to play full screen and do a CTRL,shift,4 screen capture. Aspect ratio always comes out right and it's in an already usable format.

Look at the thread that Luis mentioned and you'll see pictures of what happened to me.

If you are experiencing the same problem, here is the easiest solution I found on the net.

Make a still frame (shift-n) of the frame you want to capture and then export your still.

I have no idea why this works, but it does. BTW, it took about 12 hours of research and prodding on the net to find this solution.
