I am trying to render out an HDV project into either a WMV or MOV hd file. However when I playback the video in Windows Media Player or Quicktime it is a squeezed into a square format instead of the size I requested. The properties of the project are set to HDV preset and When I render I set the frame to 1440 x 1080.

Any ideas??

The .mov export does not always store aspect ratios. But WMV does. However, if you are exporting in WMV, it means that you are exporting for user delivery. In that case, it is recommended you export with aspect ratio 1.0000 (1280x720 or 1920x1080). Use the native resolution/ratio only if you are exporting in an intermediate format, e.g. Quicktime uncompressed or AVI.
