I'm looking to get into HD. The camera I want to use is the panasonic AG HPX -170 and the computer I want to use is a imac http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/613109-REG/Apple_Z0FQ_0002_24_iMac_Desktop_Computer.html there's a 6 pin to 9 pin firewire cable that will hook up to a 9 pin hub that I will put on the computer.
Also I'm want to add a external G Raid hard drive to do all my capturing, and storage on. via 800 firewire http://www.amazon.com/1000GB-G-Raid...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1240251047&sr=8-1
And for a HD monitor I was to use is a http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/583822-REG/JVC_DT_V17L3DU_DT_V17L3DU_17_Field_Studio_High.html
I'm using Final Cut pro as my editor.
Now my question is will this configuration work? Using the camera as a card reader and what ever I'm seeing on my computer screen as I edit, I will see on my JVC monitor and is that G Raid fast enough to capture HD footage?
