HD output of HD/SD sequence?

In FCP 5.1.4, I have a sequence that has HD footage, HD titles, and some standard definition footage. When I export it in HD, the standard d footage goes nuts (changes in and out points, frame size) . The sequence is has a 720p aspect ratio setting.
I know I'm not explaining this very well, because I have no idea what I'm doing, but any help would be appreciated.

When you export the QT movie...self contained, using sequence settings...open that in QT and look. Does it mess up there? Exporting to QT should in NO WAY effect the IN and OUT points, or SCALE of anything.
