For some time now I have been working towards making the switch to HD but have been asking myself, "why should I if my clients can't watch HD at home." ie: price point of consumer HD DVD players.
Now one can purchase a HD DVD player at Wal Mart for under $200.00. The Blue Ray units are still quite a bit more. Is it a 'Blue Ray vs. HD DVD' battle?
The question for me isn't 'if' I make the financial investment and start shooting in HD but when. That 'when' is galloping in at a rapid pace. I want to still be able to sell off my SD equipment before the value is nil but I am not a 'jump on the newest technology' guy...I like to wait for the dust to settle and the cost to drop. I 'll leave that to you guys who have more scrandoolies (read $$$). And I greatly appreciate all the posts and screen grabs from you folks who have purchased cams like the Sony EX1.
So the when is real close...early next year perhaps...
