HD no likey camera

I just upgraded from FCP 3 to HD. It now refuses to capture. When I try, it just fast-forwards to the end of the timecode and then tells me that Batch Capture failed because it couldn't find the specified timecode. It suggests insufficient pre-/post-roll, but I know that isn't it. I'm trying to capture something right in the middle of my tape. I seriously doubt it's a dropped timecode thing, because this is practically the DVX's maiden voyage, and it'd be pretty sad if she was dropping frames already.

Here is what I did to try to solve this:

Trash Preferences and Repaired Permissions.
Downgraded back to FCP 4.0.1
Tried capturing both with pulldown and without
Deselected the option to abort capture when timecode breaks occur
Set specific in/out points for one of my clips and retried

Nothing. It knows my camera is there, because I can use FCP to control it and even see playback in the Log and Capture Window. It just won't find a timecode.

PLEASE HELP!!! I have an entire project sitting on tape waiting for capture, and I can't get this stupid software to work!

Was on Firewire; changed it to Basic. Neither works.

In any case, it shouldn't be a problem. I never used this camera for 24Pa before, but I've used it for capturing dozens of projects.

Re: HD no likey camera

go back and triple check all your settings are correct.

Make sure your putting in the CORRECT timecode. Its easy to screw up one number because you typed it too fast and then that will screw the whole capturing process up.

Re: HD no likey camera

Hey everyone, I figured this out. Pretty much a user error, though I think it was justifiable. Here's what happened:

Back when I was on FCP 3, I could create a Batch Capture List in which the timecodes would just be strings of numbers, such as: 120623. I could import this straight into FCP, and it would accept all of those timecodes just the way they were. Apparently, FCP 4/HD doesn't like that. You have to have actual separated timecode values, as in: 00:12:06;23. I had to re-enter every single one of my timecodes (over 200 for what turns out to be a 3-minute movie!) and re-import the BCL, then everything would capture.

Grrr.
