hd into final cut

I have footage from a sony z7 recorded at 1080p 25 (pal) i had 3 days of footage i copied from the CF card to the computer , but when i go to log and transfer only the first days footage shows up, even though the rest is visible in finder. A message saying 'contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure' omes up. All the files show up in mpegstreamclip so i could export them from there then import into final cut, i just wanted to know what settings to do it at and will this decrease the quality?

Im not familiar with the resulting file format of the z7 when you bring the data across from the CF, but this has happened to me once before when I failed to copy across a file that I should have (talking p2 here though).
