if i were filming with tapes and using a camera such as a vx1000 or a dvx100p what is the best way to export to make my videos look hd or get the best possible quality? any help would be great thanks

Footage of a SD camera will never look as HD.
You wont get any better quality then the dv-avi you are already capturing with firewire.
However you can make your SD dvd look better on a HD tv by using a BD-player or DVD-player with upscaler.

well i know people who have youtube accounts that have really high quality video but they have vx1000 which is sd i just want to know how to do it but they never get back to me

I used to own a vx2100 so i know what SD footage looks like.
