One of the questions/excuses for not upgrading to HD is....
What are you going to deliver on....What are you going to deliver on...
Which my response has been for the last year....WMVHD which is a free codec offer by microsoft that streams compressed HD at regular DVD speeds 8 Mbps and less yet still looks great.

This means that without spending one cent more on gear you can deliver HD content.
I have been handing my customers their weddings on this format for them to play on their computer and telling them that could come back later for Bluray media later.
What I just discovered today which may be old news for some in this forum but is new for others is that both Bluray and HD-DVD have adopted the WMVHD codec as a mandatory playback codec. In fact other than playing SD dvd movies this format is the only thing that compatible accross both platforms.

Both HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc have adopted VC-1 as a mandatory video standard, meaning their video playback devices will be capable of decoding and playing video-content compressed using VC-1.
Did I mention it is free?
You do not need to invest in a WMVHD drive or expensive media. Just burn WMVHD as data on a regular .30 cent DVD.
Yes it might be a very compressed version but if you check out some of the samples from microsoft it is still pretty damn good.
