HD flat 16:9 Monitor Recommendations?

I am gearing up for a feature doc. (waiting for the HVX-200) and I need recommendations for HD LCD monitor for preview out of Final Cut Pro. Flipping through "Studio Monthly" magazine, I came across the Panasonic BT-LH1700W which lists for $3400.00, however I would prefer to spend between 1-2k. I want a monitor that is one piece- not like the Sony LMD171WS high definition LCD monitor. Thanks in advance.

Yes it can -- when it goes on sale for $803! I'm still kicking myself that I didn't just order one then. Actually I think they got down to $779...

... anyone got any super-discount coupon deals for the Dell 2405FPW?
 
$749.95 brand new on eBay ($99 shipping though).

I love my 2405FPW. It's amazing how much better day-to-day tasks are in 1920x1200. I had to wait over 2 months for mine to arrive due to the amount being sold, but Dell seem to have good stock levels now.
 
Will the dell view NTSC? Using the dual g5 with a 20" cinema display (which I hope I can use editing in HD), I want to preview the final edit from FCP to a monitor that will give a good representation of the final result. Will the dell 24" be a good choice for this?
The switch to HD brings a lot of questions.
 
i just got a dell 2005fpw today. it is one fantastic piece of machinery and i highly recommend it. i got one off ebay with no deadpixels for $439! $439 for a 20 inch! the resolution leaves little to be desired (and with dvi,vga,svideo,component i have absolutely no complaints!)
 
Just check techbargains.com every so often and you'll find the good Dell 2405FPW coupons. I don't see anything at the moment, but you usually don't have to wait long--maybe a week or two for a good sale.
