HD field monitor

I know the Ikan V8000HDe is a popular and well reviewed model of HD field monitor, but I'm looking for something a little sleeker and I came across this in the forums over dvinfo.net and I was wondering if anyone had heard much about it.

Evidently, there's been quite a lot of talk on dvinfo.net about it, and its supposedly supposed to boast a much better picture than Ikan's V8000HDe, but I haven't seen any screens to confirm or deny that claim. Has anyone heard about this SmallHD DP1? According to the spec sheet which is available from the website as a PDF, it has a brighter display with a larger true 720P HD resolution, as well as a greater LCD brightness and contrast ratios. So it seems pretty legit. As far as compatibiity goes, am I any worse off going with this as opposed to Ikan monitors for a Canon XH-A1?

I can't imagine anyone calling the V8000HDe "popular" and "well-reviewed." I had one and it's complete crap. Low resolution, poor color reproduction, crap build quality.

As far as the SmallHD, do a search and you'll find several threads discussing it. The people who have it are really happy with it.

Do you write for this company? If not, perhaps you should send a sample to their marketing department, they might be able to use this in a magazine ad.
