HD DVDs with PC?

OK, so this may be a stupid question but I'm new at shooting & editing HD footage. Is there any way to do this:

with any PC DVD programs? I have Encore and obviously the max it can do is 720x480 MPEG-2, so is there any way to do this without buying a Mac setup?

Nothing for the PC - Avid DVD/sonic went with blu-ray and i guess that program was fairly similar to DVDSP4. WMV HD is a good quick hd solution on PC
