How much of a difference in performance will I see from 8MB to 16MB Cache? Let the tech talk commence. Thanks folks.:bath:

I've heard conflicted reports about cache size on a hard drive. Many of the newer drives (SATA II, etc...) are using 16mb cache's. Manufacturers definately tote this as being a huge advantage over 8mb, but of course there are other things to take into account, like average seek time, etc..
I think if you're going to RAID, then get 16mb if you can, but I don't think there'll be a huge performance hit if you go 8mb either.
I'm about to purhcase the GTECH G-SATA external RAID enclosure, it's uses SATA II and 16mb Hitachi drives.
