Having trouble searching right frequency from lectro 401/um400

Hi guys,

First of all, I have to admit that I have never know the right way to choose a right frequency.
If anyone could help me.

I have tried several times by following the instruction from the manual, but it doesn't work.

What I did was:

1. power off the Receiver and TX
2. on RX at the same time press the three buttons (menu, two selects button)
3. then RX scanning the RF ....

Until now, I believe I am on the right track. After the RF chart is showed. When I chose the area which there is less RF line.... then chose NEW setting...

power on the TX... it doesn't really work, TX couldn't find the Receiver at all.

How could this happen ?

Anyone could help me point out where I did wrong?

Thanks a lot in advance

Hiro

You need to manually set the TRANSMITTER to the open frequency you discovered through the receiver's scan and then rescan to let the receiver find it. A transmitter has no way of detecting what frequency a near-by receiver is tuned to.

Do a scan on the receiver, then just as you said choose the new setting.
In the window along with the actual freq you went with there are 2 numbers or 2 letter or 1 of each in the upper right.
IE: A8, E6, etc

That is the corresponding code that you put in the transmitter (the sliding door on the side).

(If you are using more than 1 unit, it is wise to use the lectro "groups" or reference the lectro chart so you choose freq's that work together well
and don't cause intermodulation issues)
