Having trouble getting my rebate

Hello. I need some advice

I purchased a DVC30 from B&H last month. i submitted the paperwork and box cutout to Panasonic and they refused my rebate. The camera came with a rebate form and the free Panasonic Bag so it should be a US model....

Panasonic didnt offer any info why it was refused. I will try to contact them on Monday,

Should I call B&H about this to find out if they sold me a US camera or Grey market? or should I contact Panasonic first?

now before I sent everything off I called the rebate lady( sorry i forgot her name) and tired to verify the serial number was valid and she couldnt look it up. she said to mail it in.

Well now I have a box without the SN/UPC/Model codes on it so I doubt B&H would accept it back...

WHAT CAN I DO...? Any help or advice?
Chris

Now as the rebate is coming from Panasonic, not B&H, and Panasonic refused the rebate, why the thread title?

The specifics of the rebate are clear. My bet is you filled out something wrong, or used an out-dated rebate form, rather than downloading the newest.

B&H doesn't trade in grey market products.

Well...
your post sums it about up, but just to nit-pick: B&H do trade in "greyish" market products, but will clearly label them as such. And they will always offer the USA equivalent, albeit at a very slightly higher price.

Yea this is quite an unnecessary title. BH is a reputable company and is not out to rip you off. It's a Panasonic issue.

WOW... I had my title "adjusted" as well. I guess freedom of speech doesnt apply in this forum...

I have a photocopy of the form in fornt of me... no errors

It was the form B&H supplied me in my shipment.

On pAnny's site when I do a status request I get "Audited and Denied"

I cant wait to call them on Monday. This is driving me crazy... I folowed every detail.

Thanks for changiing my title!!!

No it doesn't. And for that little comment you just got banned for 72 hours.

The camera was NOT "grey market," and the matter of the rebate is between you and Panasonic (or the third-party rebate fulfillment company they hired to administer this program).

That said, we regret your inconvenience.

Wow, OUTSTANDING for you to be addressing this issue (even though most of us know that it certainly isn't even a B&H issue!).
I have seen you on other boards as well, and it just goes to show how much you and B&H really care about customer service!
Excellent!

Kind of you to say so. Thank you.

I too have to say its nice to see B&H responding to this. Now that I am no longer grounded from DVXuser.com I can update that Panasonic can not tell my why they didnt approve my rebate form as of now. I have to wait until this Friday before they can look it up. I have used B&H many times inthe past and I am looking to them still for an upcoming order of almost $60,000.

My first answer from Panasonic sent me into a panic. ( they said my Serial number wasnt an eligible model since they couldnt look it up in their system.) So i assumed it was B&H that did me wrong.

Henry, If on Friday I find out that the camera isnt a eligible model. Is there anything B&H can do for me. If B&H advertises a rebate with a particular camera and that camera isnt accepted for rebate (assuming I have done everything correct on my end),What is B7H's position. Right now I'm trying to do as much research as to what avenues I have to get my rebate. I hope its just a simple error on my part somehwere.

Thanks for contributing
Chris
