Having problems with FCP Set up

hey all.

i recently started using fcp4 but i'm having a problem with the initial set-up. when i go to the summary, final cut pro does not offer a dv nstc 48 mhz - 23.98 sequenece preset, nor is there an advanced pulldown removal capture preset.

why is this? is there a problem with the fcp4? do i need to re-install it or a part of it? is there any way around this situation if i want to work in 24pa?

thanks in advance

sb

Re: Having problems with FCP Set up

What? If you go to FCP menu and pull down to Audio/Video Settings and click the tab for Capture Presets, you don't see anything?

Same with sequence presets?

Ugh -- check again and I'll look around too.

Re: Having problems with FCP Set up

All of your settings should be in a folder here:

Your SYSTEM HD/Library/Application Support/FCP Support/Custom Settings

Good luck,

Re: Having problems with FCP Set up

Be sure to upgrade (it's free) from FCP 4 to FCP HD (4.5)
Make sure on the Easy Setup to turn on the little checkbox on the upper right that will display advanced options. Most of the time they want to just show the simple/typical setups.

Re: Having problems with FCP Set up

Can we assume that you're installing from a licensed legitimate personal copy of the software?

Re: Having problems with FCP Set up

it seems that i have no items in my plugins or capture setting folder. is that something on the second disk (no longer in my care). if that is the source of the problem, where can i get those folders?

thanks

Re: Having problems with FCP Set up

If you know the settings you are goig to be using, just create an easy setup from scratch, it's pretty easy...

Re: Having problems with FCP Set up

how can i creat an easy setup from scratch?

i'm looking to film in 24pa, edit it as such with the frame removal, and export to dvd.
