So I wonder if anyone can help I have just started to capture a project that I shot in 24p on the F5 setting on a DVX100a I have a PC with Premiere Pro1.0, 1GB RAM a Pentium 4 3.0ghz processor and an Nvidia fx5200 video card after capturing about an hour or so onto a western digital my book essential 500gb hard drive the capture rate slows down steadily until it is unbearably long 4-6 mins and longer to get the file (files are about 30 secs to a minute long)to write on the harddrive please please can anyone help I have never had this problem before shooting other brands of camera or is it my system

Thanks for your help in Advance

Just to get this straight...
You are capturing footage from your camera directly to the external disk - right?

Can you capture to a different drive without trouble?
Do you have an automatic anti-virus scan enabled? I've noticed slow performance when a virus scan is running in the background.
