haven't been able to get any C300 MXF files into FCP 10.0.6

I'm trying to import my Canon C300 files into FCP X (10.0.6)

But despite my downloading the necessary third party plug-in, FCPX refuses to import any MXF files.

Has anyone been able to import any files from the Canon C300 into FCP X? Nothing I;m doing is working.

I'm also running Mountain Lion with the latest version of FCP X.

In the finder, go to the 'Go' menu and then down to "Go To Folder" option, then enter the following folder name:

/System/Library/CoreServices

In here is a file called SystemVersion.plist (it's just a text file).

Make a copy of this file to the desktop (for safety), then edit this file to change the system version from 10.8.2 to 10.7.2.

Now the Canon plugin should install correctly.

When done, either change the version back to 10.8.2 or replace with the old file you copied to the desktop.

I'm importing Canon MXF without any problems - although it does re-wrap the files to an mov container in the FinalCutEvents folder.
 
Thanks everyone. Exact, after making the copy, are you saying the file I should be editing is the original "SytemVersion.plist"? or the copied file ("SystemVersioncopy.plist")?
 
Yes edit the original file (you will need admin permissions) - that's what I did, but I made the copy just in case I screwed something up - I knew I had a backup I could just copy back :)
