Okay, so I want to author a blu-ray of a 90 minute HD feature-length motion picture with 5.1 audio. This is simply for theatrical exhibition purposes. i do not need a polished blu-ray for home video replication. No fancy or complicated menus needed. Can you help?
I'm entirely mac-based. My understanding is that there is a workflow using Final Cut Studio 3, which I can upgrade to. If you are familiar with this, I have some questions for you.
1. Is the running time limit on BD-Rs under 90 minutes?
2. How does the mpeg-2 image quality hold up?
3. what data rate do you recommend?
4. Can I burn right out of Compressor or do I need Toast or even Adobe Encore?
5. Recommendations for an external BD-R drive?
I know some go to Adobe Encore to burn the disc and others do it in Toast 10. Ken Stone has an Encore guide that looks like it's hit or miss. Any lessons you've learn or insights would be very much appreciated.
