Have Vegas, do I need After Effects

I have Vegas 6.0d which I am in the process of learning. So far I am very impressed with its capabilities. I also have access to Adobe After Effects 5.5. My question, does After Effects really offer that much more functionality to make it worth while for me to invest in learning that software package, as well?

It depends on what you want to do. For basic- to mid-level compositing, I'd say no. Vegas is quite capable in its right.

But for complex effects involving things like oinion skin, or motion tracking, then yeah; you'll need to go to something else.

But who knows? Maybe not always.
