Have a NTSC 100 & a PAL 100A - Which to shoot?

A strange question.

I have access to an NTSC DVX100 and a PAL DVX100a. I am about to shoot my first 'film-like' project. I'm wondering which to shoot. I don't have an anamorphic lens so the squeeze feature of the 100a is interesting. Otherwise, I'll just add letterbox to the 100's footage in post. I have no real experience shooting 24p (or 25p). I'd probably 'feel' more comfortable at 30p, but this is probably just my lack of previous experience talking (20 years of 60i and 30p).

I will edit in Vegas 5.0.

My output target is mid-range video projection with some later distribution on DVD (it will never go to film). I'll probably play back to the projector from DV tape instead of DVD to maximize quality.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

--- Mark

If you are in PAL land, then shoot PAL, if in NTSC land, shoot NTSC.

All the best
