Has Vegas improved with HVX200 compatability?

I installed the the disk that came in the HVX box but still nothing showing up. I wonder if I would be better off hooking up the HVX to the laptop?

vegaspro80b_enu.exe this is the download file name.. stay away. Use vegaspro80a_enu.exe instead

I have Vegas Pro 80b. I removed it and downloaded the Vegas Pro 80a trial. It is only good for 30days. How do I change my Vegas Pro 80b too Vegas Pro 80a?

The trial Vegas isn't asking for a serial number - Is there a place in the Sony Vegas menu that I can put my serial number in?

Thanks David - that work. Now I have to do is get the P2 card to download onto the laptop.

My system is HP Pavillion Dv9000 (Duo CPU T550. It has 1.83 GHz and 4GB Memory with 320GB Hard Drive). I got the Express Card 34 from Addonics. Still having problems getting the P2 card to show up anywhere. Not sure but might have to use the HVX to download the P2 card? I'm going to get the Raylight today.

When I load the P2 card onto my Powerbook G4 it comes up with the P2 icon but of course can't open the files since the Powerbook isn't setup with editing etc...

I'm using HP due to using Vegas Pro

Does windows prompt you for drivers install when you insert it? If so you have to point the installer to your P2 drivers on your C drive.

Select search location on driver install (windows)
C:\Program Files\Panasonic P2\Drivers\Card

I had the same problem, windows doesn't know where to look for the drivers. The expresscard is transparent to the OS, it just sees your P2 card....

New Zealand -

I edit on a smilar DV9060 HP and was unable to get the Duel Adapter to ExpressCard slot to work. It eventually was a known problem with that series of HP laptop. May have the same problem with Addonics adapter. I just use the USB port on the camera to feed over. BTW, I tried every driver and setting humanly possible. If it doesn't want to work, move on, take camera outside, and shoot something! Oh, and sell the adaptor on eBay.

Not to hijack the thread, but what's the big deal everyone is having with Vegas 8b? I've been running it on my workstation and laptop without any unusual issues. Edit: I run XP Media Center and Pro.
