Has this ever been done at a festival?

Where many directors shoot the same script? I think this has been done before. I think it's an intresting idea. How the whole tone of a film can be changed by pacing or lighting, and how one idea can express many different feelings through location, blocking, and cinematography. I'm sure it's not a new idea, has anyone seen this been done before? and if so... are any posted on the internet?

And on a different scale, how about hollywood examples? I wish they would release films that have been reshot, much like the most recent Exorcist films. It's intresting to compare and contrast. Another movie I can think of that was reshot was TOTAL RECALL, with patrick swayze starring. I'd love to see that one :)

How many have been 're-shot' though? I have no idea.

 What? Swayze was at one point signed role but never actually made a film. Is there something I don't know?

Speaking of Swayze; I always liked him. what happened? He was huge.

Well, according to the docu on the TR dvd they shot a portion of the film. Unless my memory is off. But the company went bankrupt while making the film and Arnold bought it at an auction.

We had to do an exercise like that when I was at film school. It was actually very interesting to see the different interpretations.
