i just read the site and from what i gathered:

dvxs, like all camreas take full image and doa bunch of compression before they output for editing.

this "upgrade" allows you to get the footage before it gets compressed, its just a bypass, letting you directly capture the FULL capabilities of the camera before it gets recompressed.

idk about spending 2500 on it...

thats basically buying another dvx100b haha

you could get a hvx for that price

Andromeda. Yep. I think MacGregor has it. Some others too. This is a hot topic lately. Reel-Stream is about to come out with Hydra. A similiar modification for the HVX that will push in the neighborhood of 2k resolution @ 14bit 4:4:4 via ethernet

holy cow!!

does this mean that with 4:4:4 raw and uncompressed data being recorded onto DVX without the DV encoding, we can get quality that matches the $100,000+ cameras they use in the PRO/HOLLYWOOD industry?!

if so that 2500USD upgrade.. seems to be worth it in my opinon!!!!
only DAMN prob is you need to hook it up to a laptop? does it work with external HD?
and how much HDD space is taken for 1 minute of footage lol?
I think you need to be carrying a 1 terabyte HDD or something

Umm, no. You'll get the 4:4:4 color and the better resolution, but you still have a 1/3" CCD size and the lens will be FAR from 100k camera quality.
