Has anyone tried the VariZoom Media Rig (or Zero Gravity Rig)?

I just got one of these and though I haven't used it for work yet I spent a day testing/practicing with it.

1. It does put the camera out there a ways and this makes the flip out LCD on my AG90 difficult to use properly. I tended to lean forward to the eyepiece for focus because the LCD was just too far to judge proper focus.
2. I don't think adding weights to the back as a counter balancing solution to replace the spring pole will be practical or even if it would work. I must say the pole keeps a pretty stable shot while walking. I would say it's more stable than a full size shoulder mount camera when recording walking shots. However if you're looking for very stable walking/tracking shots a steady cam system is needed but the movement from this rig will give great looking hand held shots that aren't too "handheld" looking.
