Has anyone seen this TV in person? It's an 82" Mitsubishi

Ahh, thanks. I was just getting ready to order it to put behind my bar to watch football on.

eBay has a few new ones for $3500 so I might go that route but before I do I was just wondering how it looks in person.

I want to have the option to play one game or split the screen into 4 different games so I need one big tv instead of 4 smaller ones. It's just for the bar area so it doesn't need to have the 'best picture' but I'm worried about brightness, a review I read said to mount it at eye level, a projector is out for the bar area, it's a bright area with lots of windows.

I've seen the 82", watched some 3D stuff on it. It's a nice setup, but when you look at it side by side to the 73" and 65" inch it doesn't feel like it's worth all the extra cash.

We have the 65" Mitsubishi and it's huge. Split screen games are fine on it, but the prices on the 65 and 73 have dropped so much lately that I'd go with the 73. According to the Mitsubishi rep I was talking to, when the 65" was the top of the line they sold a ton of 53". When the 73 came out the sales of 65" spiked. Apparently people are willing to work out a little more cash for the second biggest size if they couldn't afford the biggest set, so releasing a larger screen actually drives sales for the model just below it. Since the 82" has been announced, the rep said sales of the 73" have spiked.

Regarding brightness - you can set the TV to bright mode to counteract windows and overheads. The off-axis viewing on ours isn't too great, but when you're looking straight at the TV or just slightly off dead center it's a gorgeous picture.

Amazon has the 73" for $1999, it does seem like a good buy.

why don't you get drapes, and buy a projector? Sounds cheaper. and a lot cooler.

I have a nice projector in my theater (no windows).

I want something for my sports bar that is behind the bar, I'm going to take out the big mirror and put the tv in there. Not enough throw for a projector then anyone bar tending would block the light, I want the windows to remain open and bright, a projector won't work for this application. If anyone wants to watch it in a dark place then the theater is there.

Rising above the city blocking out the noonday sun
It dwarfs the mighty redwoods and it towers over everyone
I still remember when the delivery truck came down our block
What a lucky guy
I hear he got the last one in stock
And the neighbors are just green
They say "that's the biggest screen we've ever seen!"

It's Frank's two thousand-inch TV . . .

Mitsubishi makes outstanding TVs. The Diamond series has always been the top of the line as far as I'm concerned.
