Has anyone else received a dead battery from the HMC150 rebate?

The standard battery that was originally included with the camera purchase worked, the 8GB of memory works as well, but the high capacity battery that we were sent is completely dead and won't charge. Any ideas?
 
Mine was/is fine. I would try to get a hold of someone on the phone and see if you can resolve that.
 
Can you just order a new one from Panasonic and return it with the dead battery? It seems that if you tried to deal with the rebate arm it would take months.
