Has anybody used Fiilex 360 or 180 LEDs?

In particular, are they noisy (both have fans as a part of their cooling system)?

I used the 180s on a shoot last spring and didn't notice any noise to speak of. I was shooting in a large concert hall with some music being performed sooo I didn't have the best conditions to listen for such things, but in between takes I never heard anything.

For people that have used these, how have you found them to perform? I'm interested in getting them for a simple interview/accent to natural light kit. Are they strong enough for a key light for an interview ISO800 at f5.6?

Yes, they are we used them to interview people. I would recommend the 360's over 180's since they are dimeable I was also thinking about buying them but i'm not sure they are strong enough to shoot outdoors.

I have three of the 360Ex's and one 180. I have not used them outdoors, but I would not hesitate to do so. I just can't report on actual experience yet. As for the noise, it is not a problem. When the fan on the 360EX runs, the dB(A) at 3 feet increases by less than 3 dB(A) in a room that normally runs a bit shy of 30 dB(A). At least that I what I got the one time I measured it.

Yes, with power cranked all the way up, as key, the 360EX's will do ISO 800 at f5.6, on daylight, at a distance of about 4 to 5 feet. I have found that the difference between full power to minimum is about three f-stops. To be sure, ambient plays a roll too...so YMMV.
