Hey evrey body has any one used this program ray light. Just wondering how it worked beacuse im having a heck of a time geting my p2 footage into the final cut. I have a full scene in except one 16 min clip that cycles all way threw but wont make that final step to get in the bin. A red triangle just apears in the que. I have been trying to get this footage in there for the last 2 days. RB

what camera, what version of FCP, what exactly are you doing to get footage into FCP. do you want the native MXF, or are you converting to MOV in FCP?

#36 - One or More P2 files failed to import.

Shane's Stock Answer #36 - "One or more clips failed to import..."

Very often in the field with this camera the camera operator will delete clips from the P2 card that they just don't like. That is the beauty of this camera. But, the still for that video file (located in the CLIP folder in the CONTENTS folder)...the still that you see when you are in the P2 Import window...is not deleted. So you will see the image, and the name, but the video file would have been deleted.

What you can do it compare the file names in the VIDEO folder and CLIP folder and see if anything is missing. If something is, then you know what the problem is. You can then just import the rest a few at time, skipping that one.

ALSO...in the P2 Import window...in the P2 Browser, there is a little sprocket drop down menu. Click on that and choose PREFERENCES. Uncheck REMOVE PULLDOWN and then try importing again.

ALSO...make sure your file names aren't too long. Try shortening them and see if that works.

Im using the panasonic HVX 200 A and puting in Final Cut HD the newest version. Im not shure i totaley understand the native mfp or the other stuff. All im trying to do is take the videos from the p2 cards and run it threw final cut so they can convert it so I can cut with.

Shane thanks that was a big big help. But it didnt adress the problem of a clip not transfering. Some one on top posted your quick fix and i did not help what else can I do thank you.

Hey Shane I did not know that you could take diferent parts of the clip with the in and out. So what I did was split the clip that would not transfer and bring it in in 2 parts and that seemed to work and it took the split clip. So again thank you. RB
