Re: Has any one used a Petroff Matte Box
Hey,
I've used the 4x5 Petroff mattebox extensively on my DVX100A. It's a great box..fully modular, multiple filter tray configuration, etc. If you do a search on this forum I posted some pictures of it a while back. It does not accept the anamorphic adapter but I've heard that there are plans of making a backplate for it.
Petroff now has DV Follow Focus' as well.
Let me know if you need any other information.

I rent mine from a small rental shop here in Toronto for about $60 CAD / day. I'll hopefully end up buying one eventually. For a 3 stage 4x5 mattebox with baseplate and rods (Petroff has their own base plate), adapter rings, sidewings and french flag..it's just under $3000 CAD. I'm not too sure what Ste-Mann's sell it for in the States. I'm pretty sure it's around the same or maybe more since the Petroff is actually made right here in Toronto so pricing might be better here.

I played with the Petroff follow focus and was very nice. Way better than Caivisions but not as nice as chroziel. Apparently Chroziel is suing Petroff over patent infringement with the follow focus so they can't sell them in Europe. You can rent and buy the Petroffs at Image Gear in Toronto. The owner is Mike... a real nice guy.
