I was wondering if any one has figured out the focal length equivalences for the 0-99 values for DVX 100? Then to take it a step farther you could take that info and build a depth of field chart. This would help answer a lot of the questions I see about DOF
DOF also pends your iris , and zoom settings as well though. which are both discreet of focal length .
i know the chart converst the #s to actual distances instead of focal length.. but in the case of trying to establish DOF for a shot the distance is actually useable, whereas the given focal legth of the lense at that distance is really just fluff infowhich would be used to establish the original chart. i have seen a chart like the one you ask about though.. let me try to find it
Thank you I completely forgat about this chart. I saw it posted on another list.
DUH! : I meant to say focal "distance" not "length".
With these values plus the size of your chip and focal "length" you have most of the information you need to build a DOF chart, all that is missing is the size of the circle of confusion (COC). Any one? Any one?
According to Adam Wilt they should be the same. Don't have a 100A so I can't verify, but it should be easy enough for anyone with a 100A to do some spot-checking to make sure.
