Hardwiring a Preview Monitor

Hey guys,

I have a TV that I want to hook up to Final Cut on my Apple as a preview monitor. Right now I have to go from FCP to my camera via firewire...turn the camera on VCR...and then go from the camera to the TV via the RCA cables. Is there a way I can directly hardwire something from FCP to the TV, bypassing the camera altogether? Some sort of special cord, perhaps?

Depends on your machine. If you have an S-video port on your Mac, you can use that, or an adapter that turns the S into an RCA, and set that in your Monitors Preferences as a second monitor. Not going to look as good as going through your camera. Or you could go through a Canopus ADVC device.
