Hardware Prerequisites for Edius

I now plan to get a Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a suitable motherboard.

The Edius NX with HD expansion seems to consist of two cards, right?

Are these one PCI Express card and one PCI card? Or are both cards PCI express? And how then should I fit them into my motherboard?

Thanks in advance!

There are two versions of the EDIUS NX base board:
EDIUS NX PCIe is PCI Express
EDIUS NX PCI/PCI-X is 64-bit PCI

Both use the same HD Expansion daughter/sister board, which is 32-bit PCI.

So either you'll need:
1 PCIe + 1 PCI
or
1 PCI 64-bit + 1 PCI 32-bit

Of course you can put 32-bit PCI cards in 64-bit slots, and you can put either of those in PCI-X slots, as long as the 32-bit card isn't 5-volt-only, which the HD expansion board is not.

One more tip...

If your motherboard has PCI Express, get the PCI Express version, even if your motherboard also has 64-bit PCI or PCI-X slots.
