Harddrive solution

I.m looking to possibly buy an HVX and am curious about the P2 card system. I.ve heard what seems to be that I can hook up an external USB 2.0 harddrive like a LaCie to the camera and record directly to that? Is that true? I could see myself getting an 8gb P2 card for exteriors etc. but if I do a lot of stage work, then having a harddrive with me and linked to the camera is no problem...if it.s possible, but from the way it.s phrased on these boards, I.m not really sure if I.m hearing it right...clarification for a newbie?

the answer is no unfortunately, the only thing out there that does this is the fs100 from focus enhancements www.focusinfo.com also i was reading about something else, that could possibly do it although it is supposed to be half the price of the fs100

oh yeah and i totally forgot about the cineporter there is a whole faq dedicated to it on the boards http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=40521 this makes it so you can record natively (it uses p2...read up on it)
