D dolph2000 Well-known member Jun 20, 2007 #1 I installed a new 500gb in my mac pro. A drive that should fit the mac pro. I put it in but I get a message. Disc insertion. 'the disc you inserted was not readable by this computer'. If I go to disk utility it sees it, strange!

Bob Fagan Well-known member Jun 20, 2007 #2 Reformat it (partition it) using the disk utility. That will fix it.
