Hard stops on focus ring

Is there some type of device to do hard stops on the dvx's focus ring? i think barry mentioned it in his book. made my century optics....

Yeah the closees thing is the century optics focus ring. and follow focus system. and its still not a true hard stop.

It does add actual hard stops at m.o.d. and at infinity.

The follow focus or just the focus ring alone... can you use the focus ring alone? sorry for the dumb question.... i'm not sure how these things work....

The focus ring adds hard stops. It can be used by itself and gives you two main features: hard stops and a markable surface (for making focus marks, etc).

The ring can also be used with a focus motor on a jib, for example. The ring provides teeth that mate with industry standard motor gears.

Those same teeth also mate with the follow focus, of course. So the ring is appropriate (nee, necessary) for use with a follow focus, but it can also be used with a jib or by itself.
