Hard Camera Case

I need a hard case for travel with Pelican being high on the list. I have been told that the Pelican 1550 case is to big for carry-on, on some planes to fit in the overhead, they also said it was bulky down by their feet as well. I looked at some pics of the 1500 but it looks to small to hold a DVX100, extra batteries, cables, etc. Am I making a wrong judgement call here? Can I fit all that in the 1500 since it is a smaller case?

Re: Hard Camera Case

Try the Pelican 1520 case. I have the 1500 for my small sony handycam and I'd imagine it would be too small for the dvx100. I was told that the 1520 case was created to fill the void between the 1500 and 1550 case as the 1550 apparently is bigger than carry-on luggage specs.

Happy case hunting!

Re: Hard Camera Case

I have a question as well, what would you guys consider better... the padded diveders or the pick and pluck foam?

Re: Hard Camera Case

Pick 'n' pluck is great. You can custom-configure your case to exactly conform to your equipment, and it will all be held perfectly in place and cushioned.
