I bunch of guys on HV20.com have them and for the most part seem to be happy with them. Most of them obviously are using them with HV's, so I don't know how well they work with larger cameras.
Thanks for the response. I was at a site (not sure if it's the official site of Handy35) but I didn't see if the image if flipped or not and what the light lost factor is. The footage shown in Vimeo does look nice but the price seems quite cheap from the Letus Extreme that I've purchased about a year ago. I wonder how it stack up to the Letus Extreme and Cinevate Brevis35 adapter.
I can't help you on the light loss, but I know it doesn't flip the image, so you have to flip it in post. I know they have a set up for the HV's that mounts the camera upside down to correct the image in camera but then you'd still have to use an external monitor.
I have to Brevis units, so I'm partial to them personally. I've never used a Handy though, so I can't say how it compares to them.
Yes, I'm happy with my Extreme too. However, I was wondering what the comparisons are since the price is almost half of what I paid for the Letus Extreme.
I have had the handy35 v5 plus for quite some time. I love it, I did sell my HV30 and bought the HMC40...thas my baby now. The only downfall of the handy35 for my HMC40 is I dont want this to be upside down like my hv30. I can understand something as small as my hv30 but my HMC40...NOPE...dont want it upside down so I am going to go with a Brevis as soon as I save up again.
Handy35 works fine with the XH A1. No problems and great quality. You can get it used for 600 bucks with some accessories right now. Pretty awesome price, especially for the quality.
