I'm looking for something to carry between 150-250 lbs. and fold up. any experience with these? or others?

or is their anything similar (portability) at Home Depot?

i kind of like this becuase it can fit under an airplane seat , supposedly. not that I need that feature that often, and has an extension height of 45.5 inches

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

I have a Remin Tri-Kart 800 and it's built like a tank.  It has a capacity to hold 300 pounds and I've used it with a lot of weight--so it works as advertised.  I was originally thinking about getting a Ruxxac, but the guy at the store said they get broken ones returned pretty regularly and none of the Remins has ever been returned.  The Tri-Kart 750 might work for your needs and it's a bit lighter. check the Remin website to see what works for you.

You seam like a pro so i dont know if you would do this,

but...

home depot, get 4 chair rollers also get a metal stool with no back like a mini bar stool/chair.

fit the chair rollers on each of the four legs. you can drill and bolt them up. so now you have a lil stool with wheels(doubles as seat)

make a removeable dock for your favorite tripod(you must have one of those fancy ones) use 3 peices of metal and pliers to shape them attach them to the bottom of the stool and have them come out when needed with pre drilled hole.

when you want you can attach the tripod with some nuts and bolts(better yet they have hand bolts(the ones on mountain bike wheels) and whenever you want to take a rest, sit 'n' chill

I have a ROCK-N-ROLLER Multicart R10. I love the thing! I pushed my gear through the jungles of Hawaii when filming on the set of LOST. It has big pneumatic tires in the rear that makes pushing on rough terrain a breeze.

It folds up nice and small and can extend as well.

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

Barry, how useful are the two back wheels on your cart? Not quite sure what functionality they add.

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

Powerdog, the backs wheels are essential because you load up the cart while it's vertical, than tilt it back to roll it along. On a two-wheeled handtruck or cart you're not only pushing it or pulling it, but supporting the downward weight of the load. The Tri-Kart supports the load on all four wheels, so it's stable and you only have to exert the force to push or pull the cart. It's funny, but I've gotten way more compliments on my Tri-Kart than on my DVX. D

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

Barry, did you ever consider the Rock 'n Roller vs the Tri-Kart? I've got it narrowed down to those 2.

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

excellent timing, another thread that came along RIGHt as i was getting to do research on what to buy!

the rocknrollercart looks great the micro or the mini!

for small stuff i love my kata, i got my first one separately and the second one came with my maze 4 lighting bag.

what type of store carries these like a home depot/lowes?

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

Probably just large stores that specialize in photography equipment or stuff for traveling musicians. Definitely not the big box stores. B&H has them on their website, too.

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

That looks great Doggy! PRO...

If all goes well today, I can post a pict and take care of some other things ( y'll know who you are..)

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

I've got the Rock n Roller too. Some of the best money I've ever spent... after the DVX of course... ;D

I got mine at a guitar store.

just letting you know I like this thing so far. silly, but it is fun like having your own little wagon. I won't be posting picts for awhile becuase I am on dial up-- among other issues... the "micro" is great size for camera equipment for 1-2 people and a few lighting related goodies.

I wanted to add, while it is advertised as being able to be in several different configurations, you'd probably only really use 1-3 of them frequently..the "8" they described is a little bit of a stretch, though truthful

Re: Handtruck: ruxxac, remin, clipper?

I finally joined the Barry_S bandwagon (no pun intended) and got a Remin Tri-Kart 800. Looks great to me. Good combination of portability, durability, and capacity. I would have gone for the R&R if I needed the extra space, but I'm pretty sure I can stack everything on the TK and have room to spare. Best deal was at B&H.

some picts..
if you are really tall, this may be too short for you
