I just got my film back from Fotokem today and it's great. I am preparing to shoot a short, silent 35mm movie in a few months, but I first wanted to test the cameras out. So I went to Keslow Camera and CamTech (both in LA) and loaded some 35mm into each of their modified Arri 2-Cs. The footage turned out great. I did some overcrank tests (I could only get it as high as 55 FPS cranking by hand) and some backwind stuff. Since I went to 2 rental houses, I bought 2 seperate rolls of film. When I ended up shooting everything I needed to test at the first place, I decided to shoot a short movie with the other roll at the second rental house. What follows is footage from the cameras. It's about 3 minutes long. All in all, it gives me hope for the project as I was concerned how varried exposure would be with a handcrank. BTW, all exposures were made by eye. No light meter for me! Just like the old days. Anyway, here's a link.
