Handbrake and FCP

I'm editing a reel for one of my friends who's an actor, but the best she can do is give me the dvd's of some of her student films, instead of quicktimes. I did an initial rip of the dvd's in handbrake, but of course, FCP didn't like them, giving me a file error message.

Does anybody familiar with handbrake know of a good set of settings so I can rip this footage and start editing it?

handbrake doesn't create files that FCP will like. rip the disc with MacTheRipper and then convert to DV with MPEGstreamclip.

MPEG STREAMCLIP will encode the footage directly from the DVD...no need to use MactheRipper first...
