My six month old son was dressed up as Chewbacca, but everyone kept saying "What a cute Ewok."

I'll get my wife to post some pics tomorrow.

EDIT: I lied. We didn't get any pictures. We're horrible parents.

Callaghan -- did you go to Mickey's not-so-scary? I worked that event a few nights about five years ago in my cast member days. Fun stuff! Christmas is great too.

Yeah, Owen...Not So Scary is great, but these are from the Boardwalk (kind of a tradition). We also go to the campground every year, where they have a "haunted hayride"...where a full-on headless horseman chases the wagon through the woods.

John, your little Ranger looks like quite the war hero.

You know, I'm just a really big jerk. Someone here should call my wife and tell her I'm sorry.

She's the pic shooter in the family. I just grab the card for the website. Well -- seems she grabbed the camera and I had forgot to put the card back in... until I figured it out at the very end of the night last night.

BUT -- now -- she knows I do this... I've been stupid before. Shouldn't she remember to remember that I'm a lazy bum and she should CHECK to see that the card's in the camera???

So Pookie... as happy as my wife is looking she's mad as hell she didn't get any natural light pictures of the decorations she made or of the boys in costume. ZacharyYoda -- well... he's just done.

It always amazes me than no matter how much you know about what sort of events they've got during different holidays, someone else always knows about yet another activity. That sounds cool -- especially considering that Boardwalk = free!

I know! When I was a kid, I remember not using things like bike helmets and seatbelts. We ran around the neighborhood with realistic-looking guns, pointing them at anything that moved. It's amazing I'm still alive, but damn it, I'm tough.

Yeah...bike helmets...huh? Been riding bikes for 40 some-odd years, never fell on my head. No one I know has ever fallen on their head. Trying to figure out a way you could fall on your head... Nope can't think of any that wouldn't also most likely snap your neck, making the bump on the noggin moot.

Seatbelts? How about making your kids ride in tha back seat? Why? So you have to turn around to see why Sally suddenly started screaming?

Realistic looking guns? Sheesh. All you gotta do is take a real AK-47 and paint the end of the barrel day-glo orange or green. Instant toy gun.

Oh, if they catch your kids climbing a tree around here, have fun getting them back from Child Protective Services, you bad bad parent. :)

Riding without a helmet is a very dumb idea. Trust me on this one... I fractured my skull rollerblading and got a bill in the 10's of thousands. More importantly, I could have had problems with brain damage. At one point they were thinking about drilling into my skull to drain blood that had been collecting (CAT scan proved it was unnecessary thank God). When I fell I didn't land on my head (hit back first) but my head snapped backwards onto the corner of the pavement from the force (I was going down a moderate slope and had my feet crossed in the middle of an elaborate move). There's plenty of ways to kill yourself or hurt your head even with a helmet. Why tempt fate?

As for seatbelts... It's only common sense really. I've seen too much death from vehicle accidents to question that one (I am a registered lifeguard and certified in CPR). Just the other day two high school students killed themselves in a roll over. My own family was involved in a roll over in central Wyoming. Damn tires went out and the driver over corrected. Luckily we were going slow for the highway, roughly 60mph. STILL, when the car rolled, it REALLY rolled. It made 5 complete revolutions (and these were bouncing revolutions) before coming to a stop. Somehow no one died but I have no doubt they would all be dead if they weren't wearing seatbelts.

Maybe I'm just too reserved in this regard. Maybe I'm paranoid. I've just experienced too much to question safety proceedures. That said I do think things have gotten a bit out of control with over protecting kids in some cases.

I've fallen off my bike and hit my head... actually I also hit my head while riding my bike. I was a kid. Hurt like hell.

Needless to say, I got back on and now I mountain bike - with a helmet.

I'm done with realistic guns. I used to play paintball and I bought a mod kit for my gun, an AK47 mod kit. My friend used to drive a hearse and we went to walmart to get our co2 tanks filled so we left our guns in the hearse. We got the tanks filled and we were pulling out of the walmart parking lot and I had my paintball gun on my lap and all of a sudden all these cops surrounded the car. I had like 15 guns pointed in my face. The cop told us to throw the keys out of the window and step out of the vehicle very slowly. I did as they said but I was still takcled and handcuffed. The cops looked at our guns and realized we were not members of the al qaeda and wernt about to rob wal mart. The cops around here are very "trigger happy" too so I'm lucky to be alive today. yeah...back to the subject.

Tempting or not, it's none of anyone else's business. Certainly not the cop's, who pulled you over to give you a ticket...who should be out somewhere catching a serial rapist or that guy breaking into Mr Frederick's apartment.

Why isn't that your choice? Don't say "Society pays for it". "Society" could just as easily decide to not pay for folks who don't. It's a non-issue.

Oh quite fair enough. I never said the cops should be allowed to pull you over. I just, personally, can't imagine why anyone would not want to. People are free to do as they choose of course. We've got to keep in mind that not all choices are equal though. :)

Sorry, I'm honestly not following you here. :) I certainly mean no offense and I never did address the legal aspect of the issue. I'm just talking about maximizing safetly and the reasons I feel the use of seatbelts and helmets are reasonable. Again, not commenting on the laws.

Come on Shaw, you post regularly on DVXUSER... is there a question as to brain damage

We all got it... at least you got it honest.

Just pookin' fun, no offense.
