Well, here I am at half a thousand posts. I was thinking that I'd do the first half of my thousandth post video, but, you see, I can't. I had assumed that since I paid for half of the HVX, I should be able to use that half of the camera to do my half-a-thousandth-post video. But noooooo. I found out AFTER paying half, that they don't SEND half cameras.
Then I typed my half-a-thousandth-post video into MS WORD and tried to save it as a .AVI file. It saved fine, but it is somehow in PAL format and I cannot view it. I tried to do a search on the Wordprocessing forum here at DVXuser, but it must not have survived the server upgrade. Anyway, I pm'd John Hudson to find out when it would be back up, but he fanned me (fortunately the spell-checker was also not up yet, so while awkward, the fanning was much more pleasant that the banning he had intended.)
So, I borrowed an EU version of Wordperfect from Emanuel. It imported the .avi file fine, but the porting from the MS platform left alot of artifacting and noise. It kept producing dialogue like, "I'm brand agnostic as Emanuel", and "Barry is for the supreme head like mind frosting."
Still left with nothing to show for my half-a-thousandth-post video, I, undaunted, asked n8ture to film me doing something mundane--you know, something that makes me personal to y'all. We got together with thartley and ate lunch at an outdoor cafe here in Chicago, but the sucker took my video and posted it as his fourth-post video. Everyone seemed to like it, though, so creatively, I feel vindicated.
