Hakuba HG-503MX Tripod (any opinions?)

I need it for video, but my main interest is in the legs. I'm leaning towards picking up a Bogen HDV 502 head.

What do you think about the legs? Moreover the Hakuba name?

Thanks,

Trey

Aside from having a friction head, there is no means of leveling.
Spend some time searching this subject. In addition to legs and heads, you may find out a few things about the 503.
Edit: should have said "may find out a few things about Bogen in general".

Thanks, GCO.

And you're right, there is no level and the head is not a true fluid head. I was just hoping to find someone with first hand experience before I decided to buy.

It's always reassuring to hear from someone that has already used the tripod instead of going off of specs alone.

I like everything about these sticks, and no level won't be a problem if I'm just going to buy another head anyways.

Hmmm, now I'm wondering if the HDV 501 comes with a level or not. I'll check.

Thanks,

Trey

Hey Trey,
check out the Official Tripod Sticky. Great info in there. You might want to forget about Bogen and look at Libec or Miller instead.
