h4n 4 channel mode and the 1/8th jack

So i have hunted for this information and not found it. Can anybody with an H4n test this for me?
When recording in 4 channel mode can you record the 2 xlr inputs as well as the 1/8th input as your other two?

My idea was to use an old beachtech adapter i have that gives me 2 xlrs into one stereo 1/8th and lets me control the levels and line/mic. IF this is the case i could combine these two devices and have a 4 channel xlr recorder. just 2 on phantom and two not.

Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.
 
Yes you can do this. I do it all the time. I did it recently for a wedding with a band and a Dj using different systems. I recorded the band via XLR and the Dj via 1/8'. I recommend a right angle 1/8" plug.
