H265

[New_Zealand]

Does anyone know if Vegas Pro will support this file? Thanks

Hard to predict the future, but heard nothing yet. Da Vinci Resolve has started to (kinda) support H.265.

I think that so far it's: Premeire Pro CC 2015 (latest) and Davinci Resolve 12.1 (or the next upcoming release). Sony has always been VERY aggressive about getting the newest codecs up and running in VEGAS so I'm actually surprised it's not already there. I'd bet it'll be soon.

It's my understanding that you will need some serious computational power to handle h265 on your computer...

There's a plug-in for h.265 decoding available for Vegas Pro -> here. Don't worry about the German discussion and discription. You'll see GUI and install information is english. Encoding to h.265 is possible via the Vegas2HandBrake workflow.
