Dear all:
I've purchased a PS3, and, folowing this thread where we discussed encoding possibilities
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=91222
I figured it would be nice if we gatter al useful encoding information for these consumer multimedia machines, in order to achieve the best possible results for output.
Here's what I've got:
Following Bob Gundu's advice, I went with Apple TV encoding preset out of Quicktime pro. While it looked good, it still looked a bit below what I was getting from the native dvcproHD source. SO I tried to up the kb per second to 12000KB per sec. It looked better, but still well bellow the 1080p source. This, however, works.
Then I tried encoding 1080p. Did exactly the same as on the 720p option, only did resize the screen to 1920x 1080. The PS3 says "unsopported format". Bummer. Did it with 12000kb bitrate.
Any H264 output preset from you guys working in 1080?
Haven't tried to up the 720p signal beyond 12000kb. Funny thing is, the H264 Blu rays I have go way beyond 12000 or 18000, for the matter, and they are supposed to be 1080p. How do we get there?
Xbox 360 settings for fellow users could be good, too.
