H.264 Interlacing Problem

OK, I've got Quicktime Pro, I'm shooting 24PA and editing on a 24P timeline in Vegas. I export to Windows AVI and then open that AVI in Quicktime to export as a high quality .mov with H.264, but I keep getting terrible interlacing in my final .mov video, a lot of jagged edges around any kind of motion. Is this somehow related to the pulldown or what? Thanks!

Any chance you're resizing the image? Like crop/zoom or something? Does the AVI look OK? Why not try rendering out to the new MP4 render setting (isn't that H264?).
